This session is meant to explore the various career paths/options available and also to understand the one which might be of best interest to you. If you're not clear on what to pursue or confused or need some advice, you can set up a call with mentors from varied professionals and identify the one which best suits you. You can also ask for the resume creation tips and best practices or resume review.

If it's related to the Resume:

  • Ask for mentors' actual resume

If it's related to Career Guidance:

  • Ask for pros and cons as per mentors experience thus far
  • Current industry trends
  • Links and materials to read and explore further

Ratings & Feedback

Not applicable for the candidates, however ratings and feedback are collected about the mentors related to the guidance.

Besides, candidates can also give private feedback to the mentor using a chat feature. This private feedback won't be displayed in the mentors' profile.

Interview Preparation

Overview

Once you've identified the career path you're interested in - say data science, however you need some help to prepare for your interviews, you may choose this session. You may also use this session to prepare for company specific interviews by choosing the mentor who worked or is working in that specific company. It's important to note that the actual interview questions might not be the same as provided by the mentors. These sessions should help you to channelize your energy to prepare on the relevant topics.

Concepts

Overview

These types of sessions are meant to make you understand any concepts you may want to learn.

Note to the candidates:

  • As it's not practically possible to go through many topics in a session, it's advised to book multiple sessions if you want to get mentored on many concepts. Before booking a session, you can always ask the mentor about the time it takes to go through the required concepts.
  • Also please note that it's not humanly possible to know each and every topic. So it's always suggested to ask the mentor beforehand if he/she can help you with the required concepts before making the payment.

Mock Interviews

Overview

These sessions are meant to prove your skills and talent. You could directly take these sessions if you already possess the required skill sets. We strongly encourage candidates to book the mock interview sessions with the mid senior professions or above i.e., with at least 5 years of experience. You may also look for mentors with behavioural or HR related interview experience and book the same. It's important to note that the actual interview questions might not be the same as asked by the mentors. The candidates would be rated on the below categories along with an overall rating and feedback:

  • Communication
  • Clarity of Thoughts
  • Core role knowledge
  • Problem Solving Skills

Note to the mentors:

  • While we leave to your discretion on the type of questions to be asked, please make sure you ask relevant questions considering the years of experience of the candidate too. E.g. Asking a fresher very hard questions might not be helpful and serve the purpose.
  • As you would be asked to rate the candidates on the above 4 categories, please make sure your questions help you to assess those.
  • If you think your mock interviews need longer than a session duration(e.g. interview with coding exercise might take an hour), please communicate the same to the candidate before accepting so that they can book the required duration.

Outcome

  • Experience the real world interviews from the actual interviewers
  • Gauge where you stand and areas to improve on
  • You can also choose to showcase your mock interview performance to the community to get referrals
  • Links and materials to read and explore further

Ratings & Feedback

Both mentors and candidates are rated. The candidates would be rated on the below categories along with an overall rating and feedback:

  • Communication
  • Clarity of Thoughts
  • Core Role Knowledge
  • Problem Solving Skills

Besides, both parties can also give private feedback to each other using a chat feature. This private feedback won't be displayed in the user's profile.

Note to the mentors:

  • As there is always an opportunity for the candidates to improve over the time, we suggest not to give negative/very negative feedback in the ratings and feedback section as it would be displayed in the candidates profile which can't be deleted. You can always use the chat feature to discuss the areas of improvement etc.
  • However, if you find any positive things, please don't hesitate to mention it in the ratings and feedback section.

Tips to the candidates:

  • Don't forget to showcase your mock interview performance to the community by creating a referral listing which might fetch you a few referrals!
